LATEST SDF NEWS

Update February 16th 2010. The new mail boxes are now in place and keys have been delivered to all owners.
There has been a little confusion in the delivery as there was no unit number on some of the mail.
Please specify your SDF unit number on all correspondence. For the time being, residents are asked to put their last names inside their box until the post lady becomes more accustomed to the system. Where relevant, both last names would be helpful.
The Post Office will allow this small indulgence for the near term, but as of February 28, 2010 any mail not conforming will be returned to sender.

The list of names and unit numbers is downloadable here as a Word document.

The Gardening Director has contacted the Government Environmental Health Vector Officer regarding a slight rat problem near the Piggery. He has promised to set traps for us “before The New Year”. Residents who may be having a problem can also call themselves and have additional traps set to give more coverage. Click here for contact information.

The winter gardening schedule is now in operation until late April. Contact the Gardening Director if you have any queries.

Residents are reminded that the arboretum is not intended to be used for parking and that no vehicles should be parked there on a routine basis. If for some reason there is a need to temporarily use the arboretum for parking please discuss with a member of the board.

Please note that all garbage must be put out on Monday or Thursday mornings before 8a.m. See here for full details.

The board has decided that anybody wishing to plant trees or hedges on the property first seek board approval. The rationale for this is that once planted residents assume that all future maintenance will be at the company's expense. This can sometimes be a problem when units change hands. Also certain trees have extensive root systems that can cause damage to property. Finally there are numerous electrical, TV and plumbing lines around the property and we want to avoid disruption to service for other people. It is not our intent to prevent beautification, but rather to be sure we do not end up with longer term problems.

Property for sale

There have been a few searches recently on the web site for a listing of Southdown properties for sale. This service is now available. If this would be of interest to you, please send an email to the address at the bottom of this page.
