Extensions Survey - Results

Dear Shareholders,                                                                                                 July, 2003

Thank you to those who responded to the survey sent on April 7th, 2003 regarding building extensions on Southdown Farm. We received responses from thirty seven shareholders or 69% of all owners.  In summary, thirty three felt that extensions should  continue to be allowed based on the seven guidelines outlined in the survey questionnaire (copy of survey attached as a reminder) sent by the Board. There were four respondents who objected to any further building of which three felt that filling in existing porches, which does not change the building footprint, would be permitted. Thus, there was a clear mandate to allow further extensions based on the guidelines contained in the survey.

The responses to questions on the imposing of a levy and a time restraint for new owners on building requests were less clear-cut. Approximately half of the respondents felt that some sort of levy should be imposed and also agreed there should be a waiting period before a new owner can apply for permission to build an extension. Given the significance and potential impact of introducing a levy and a waiting period, the Board has proposed that a position paper be submitted to all owners and discussed further at the AGM.

Once again, thank you to those who participated.

Regards,
